Deep Healing Weekend for Grief, Loss and Life Transitions

April 19-22, 2024 Port Orford, Oregon

This workshop is a space for deep work and healing around grief, loss, and major life transitions. As a small group we will support each other and be supported in this work, which is both deeply personal and also communal.

THE COMPONENTS OF THE WEEKEND INCLUDE

– Group sharing and processing

– Somatic work

– A private therapy session (trauma informed, can include EMDR)

– A shared grief ritual

– Guided time in nature

– Shared lunch

– Alone time, to rest and integrate

When we are in grief, loss, and transition we are usually in great discomfort. Yet these states have so much to offer us and lead us to transform in ways we couldn’t otherwise. My goal is to help you be in this discomfort, to experience all that you need to, with tools to help you to do this work. In grief and change, we are in what Francis Weller calls “an apprenticeship with sorrow.”

IS THIS WEEKEND FOR YOU?

If you are in a transition due to the loss of someone, the end of a relationship, changing careers or identities, or any other big shifts, please consider joining us. The group will have 5 participants maximum. Part of our time together will be spent outdoors - participants need to be able to walk for a mile if they want to join these parts of the workshop.

COST

$1,500

Participants are responsible for their own lodging and transportation, breakfasts and dinners. We will provide recommendations for lodging. Participants may wish to share the cost of a house rental here in town to lower the cost of lodging.

ABOUT THE LOCATION

Port Orford is a small town on the southern coast of Oregon. We are in a temperate rainforest, which means it may be wet and rainy. Even on rainy days, there is often a break in the weather. There is a grocery store and a food co-op, as well as a handful of restaurants.

We will meet in a house that has a dog and a cat. If you have allergies, please take care of yourself.

The house has space enough for people to have some privacy during the breaks, during which they can journal, rest, or be outside.

GETTING TO PORT ORFORD

The closest airport to Port Orford is Southwest Oregon Regional Airport, formerly North Bend. United Airlines has regular flights to here from San Francisco. Participants who fly in will need to rent a car in North Bend, which is an hour north of Port Orford.
